The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), Coimbatore organized Texfair 2015 – largest expo of textile machinery, spares, accessories and other supporting services and Farm to Finish Expo 2015 – expo showcased right from farm to finished products during January 9-12, 2015 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
At the inaugural function held on 9th January 2015, SIMA Chairman Shri T Rajkumar welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Prem Malik, Chairman of Confederation of Indian textile Industry, New Delhi, Dr. A Sakthivel, President of Tirupur Exporters Association, Tirupur, Shri P Periyaswamy, Chairman of TEXVALLEY, Erode, Shri T Karthikeyan, COA Member of Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL), Erode, Dr P Kanagasabapathi, Convenor of Swadeshi Organisation, Shri P Gopal, President of Textile Machinery and Mill Stores Merchants Association, Coimbatore, Shri S Senthil Kumar, President of Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturer’s Association, Mumbai and the Exhibitors to the inaugural function. Shri S Dinakaran briefed about Texfair 2015 and Farm to Finish Expo 2015. Shri P Gopal and Shri S Senthil Kumar offered felicitations. Deputy Chairman Shri M Senthil Kumar delivered vote of thanks.
At the Texfair expo machinery, spares manufacturers / suppliers and other supporting service providers from China, Japan, Switzerland, Italy and USA apart from domestic players across the country catering to the various segments of the textile industry showcased their products and services.
At the Farm to Finish Expo, various varieties of cotton, man-made fibres, regenerated fibres, various types of yarn, cloth samples, fabrics, made-ups, garments, and special clothings like sports wear, baggages, etc were exhibited by the textile mills across the country. Texfair 2015 is Nineth edition in its series and the Farm to Finish Expo 2015 is the second edition.
The expos provided an opportunity for various clusters of the industry to know the latest improvements in technology and availability of domestic as well as import substitution spares. 240 exhibitors showcased their products and services in 300 stalls. Out of 240 exhibitors, 110 exhibitors have participated in more than five Texfair Expos. The Expos attracted about one lakh visitors and created business worth around Rs.500 crores. Business visitors from countries like China, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka visited the Expo and derived the benefit, besides the visitors from all over the country.

This is the only fair being visited by all the technicians, shop floor, middle management and top management of each and every mill located in South india (around 2500 textile mills, seven lakh powerlooms, 70% of the cotton knitted fabric manufacturers, 30% of the processing fabrics manufacturers, 30% of the handloom weavers and have significant presence across the textile value chain).
