The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), Coimbatore organized Texfair 2007 – largest expo of textile machinery, spares, accessories and other supporting services during July 26-30, 2007 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.

At the inaugural function held on 26th July 2007, SIMA Chairman Shri S V Arumugam welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Ponagalur N Palanisamy, Hon’ble Minister of Rural Industries, Government of TamilNadu, Shri N K K P Raja, Hon’ble Minister for Handlooms & Textiles, Shri Sridhar Varadaraj, Vice-Chairman, Textile Machinery Manufacturers’ Association, Mumbai, Shri S V Sundararajan, President of Textile Machinery and Mill Stores Merchants Association (TMMSMA), Coimbatore and the Exhibitors to the inaugural function. Deputy Chairman Dr K V Srinivasan briefed about Texfair 2007. Vice-Chairman Shri J Thulasidharan delivered vote of thanks.

At the Texfair expo machinery, spares manufacturers / suppliers and other supporting service providers from China, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden and Italy apart from domestic players across the country catering to the various segments of the textile industry showcased their products and services.

The expos provided an opportunity for various clusters of the industry to know the latest improvements in technology and availability of domestic as well as import substitution spares. 210 exhibitors showcased their products and services in 232 stalls. The Expos attracted about 30,000 visitors.
