The Southern India Mills’ Association (SIMA), Coimbatore organized Texfair 2004 – largest expo of textile machinery, spares, accessories and other supporting services during February 5-9, 2004 at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
At the inaugural function held on 5th February 2004, SIMA Chairman Shri Vijay Venkataswamy welcomed the Chief Guest Shri Atul Chaturvedi, Joint Secretary (Textiles), Dr. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Chairman, ICMF, Shri Sanjiv Lathia, President, Indian Textile Accessories & Machinery Manufacturers Association, Shri Senthilkumar, Chairman, Powerloon Development and Export Promotion Council, Shri Chinniyan, President, SISSPA, Shri Srinivasan, President, Textile Machinery & Mill Stores Merchant’s Association and the Exhibitors to the inaugural function. Deputy Chairman Shri S V Arumugam briefed about Texfair 2004. Vice-Chairman Dr K V Srinivasan delivered vote of thanks.
At the Texfair expo machinery, spares manufacturers / suppliers and other supporting service providers from China, Switzerland, Germany, etc., apart from domestic players across the country catering to the various segments of the textile industry showcased their products and services.
The expos provided an opportunity for various clusters of the industry to know the latest improvements in technology and availability of domestic as well as import substitution spares. 155 exhibitors showcased their products and services in 170 stalls. The Expos attracted about 25,000 visitors.
